Recruitment Details :

Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) recently announced the recruitment of 35277 NTPC Commercial Apprentice (CA), Junior Clerk short typist, Accounts Clerk short typist, Train Clerk, Commercial Low Ticket Clerk, Traffic Assistant, Goods Guard, Senior Commercial Ticket That is. Clerk, senior clerk less typist, junior accountant assistant less typist. Many interested and qualified candidates have filled online applications from 01.03.2019 and conducted till 31.03.2019. About Exam –

All qualified candidates will face the examination. The fixed date of the examination will be announced on the official website of RRB. The examination will be of the written type. A tentative examination will be set between June to September 2019. More information is given below.

Selection Process:-

  • 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT).
  • 2nd Stage Computer Based Test (CBT).
  • Typing Skill Test/Computer-Based Aptitude Test (as applicable).
  • Document Verification/Medical Examination.

Depending on the above recruitment steps, the selection is done strictly according to merit. Date, time and place for all activities. CBT, Typing Skill Test / Computer-Based Aptitude Test, Document Verification, Medical Examination or any other additional activity to be applied will be decided by the RRB and qualified candidates will be notified on schedule. Entertainment will not be requested in any situation for postponement of any above activity or for site, date, and change.

Minimum percentage of marks for eligibility in various categories: UR-40%, EWS-40%,OBC(Non creamy layer)-30%, SC-30%, ST-25%. These percentages of marks for eligibility may be relaxed by 2% for PwBD candidates in case of shortage of PwBD candidates against vacancies reserved for them.

Examination period will be 120 minutes for eligible PwBD candidates. The section wise distribution given in the above table is only indicative and there may be some differences in the actual question papers. Negative marking and 1/3 digits for each wrong answer will be deducted. 1stStage CBT screening is of nature and the standard of questions for CBT will generally be in line with the educational standards set for the posts. The generalized score of 1stStage CBT will be used for shortlisting of 2nd stage CBT candidates according to their merit. Candidates who have been shortlisted for Second Stage CBT to avail the reservation benefits of OBC (NCL) / SC / ST / EWS, PWBD and ExSM, have only been given OBC (NCL) / SC / ST / EWS, PWBD and ExSM Will be considered against Steps after the recruitment process

The Questions will be of objective type with multiple choices and are likely to include questions pertaining to:

a. Mathematics: Number system, decimal, fraction, LCM, HCF, ratio and ratio, percentage, in-time, time and work, time and distance, simple and compound interest, profit and loss, elementary algebra, geometry and trigonometry, elementary statistics etc.

B. General intelligence and logic: the completion of the analogs, numbers and alphabet series, coding and decoding, mathematical operations, parallels and differences, relationships, analytical logic, syllogism, jumbling, wen diagram, puzzles, data sufficiency, statement-conclusions, statement-course action Decision making, map, interpret graphs etc.

C. General awareness: current programs of national and international importance, sports and sports, India’s art and culture, Indian literature, memorial and place of India, general science and life sciences (till 10th CBSE), History of India and freedom struggle, physical , India and the world’s social and economic geography, Indian politics and governance-constitution and political system, India’s space and nuclear programs. General scientific and technological development United Nations and other important world organizations, on the issue of environment, in India and the world on a large scale, the basics of computer and computer applications, general signaling, transportation system in India, Indian economy, India and world-famous personality, flagship government programs, Flora and Fauna of India, Important Government of India and Public Sector Organizations etc.

2nd Stage Computer Based Test (CBT)

For each of the 7th CPC level i.e. levels 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, separate -2 Stage CBT will be taken with the graded difficulty level. All posts coming at the same level of 7th CPC will have a normal second phase CBT. If the candidates are eligible for more than one level of 7th CPC according to their educational qualification, then according to the table given in paragraph 13.6, for each level of 7th CPC, Common Fares CBT and this second phase should be given CBT.

For the second phase, shortlisting candidates for CBT 1 stages will be based on the generalized scores received by them in CBT and option for various posts used by the candidate keeping in mind the educational qualification i.e. 10 + 2 or the graduate. The total number of candidates shortlisted is Rs 20. According to the positions of the RRB according to their qualifications, community wise vacancies of posts will be given in accordance with the positions of 1stStage CBTcum. However, Railways has reserved the right to increase/decrease this limit for the total or any specific category according to the required availability of adequate candidates for all notified posts.

The examination duration will be 120 Minutes for eligible PwBD candidates accompanied with Scribe.

The normalized marks scored by the candidate in the 2nd stage CBT shall be used for shortlisting the candidates for document verification for the posts which do not have Typing Skill Test/Computer-based Aptitude Test. For the posts having Typing Skill Test/Computer-based Aptitude Test, the normalized marks scored by the candidate in the 2nd stage CBT shall be used for shortlisting the candidates for Typing Skill Test/Computer-based Aptitude Test.

Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) (Only for candidates who have opted for Traffic Assistant and Station Master)

Qualification marks: To qualify for the candidates, the minimum 42-digit T-score must be secured in each test battery. It is applicable to all candidates in spite of the community or category i.e. in spite of SC / ST / OBC-NCL / EWS / PwBD / Ex-SM and no relaxation in minimum T-score is not permissible.

Candidates equal to 8 times the number of vacant posts of station master (SM) / Traffic Assistant (TA) for each community i.e. UR, OBC-NCL, SC, ST and EWS (including ExSM) candidates will be listed short on the basis of CBAT SM His performance in the Second Stage CBT of the candidates selected for the post of / TA. Such shortlisted candidates should produce Vision Certificate in the prescribed format according to contract VI in the original format during CBAT if it fails that they will not be allowed to attend the CBAT.

In order to consider the post of SMAT / TA candidates will have to qualify for each test battery of CBAT. CBAT will have questions and answers in English and Hindi only. There will be no negative marking in the CBAT

The SM / TA merit list will be taken only among candidates seeking qualification in CBAT, in which 70% weightage for the marks obtained in second stage CBT and 30% weightage for marks obtained in CBAT.

Candidates are advised to visit websites of RDSO (www.rdso.indianrailways.gov.in->Directorates->Psycho Technical Directorate ->Guidelines for Aptitude Test) for question patterns and other details of CBAT.

Typing Skill Test (TST)

Senior clerk cum typist, junior accounts assistant short typist, senior timekeeper, junior clerk short typist, accounts clerk short typist and junior timekeeper, typing skill test (TST) qualifying naturals (marks obtained in the typing skill test) will not be for posts. Merit will be added to make) for which the number of vacancies for each community will be held for eight times equivalent candidates. Candidates should be able to type 30 word permitting (WPM) in English or 25 on WPM personal computers in Hindi without editing tools and spell check facility only. For the guidance of those who come in for typing skill test in Hindi, Kriti Dev and Mangal font will be made available for typing skill test on personal computer. The exemption in typing skill test can be given to candidates who have been permanently disabled due to blindness, cerebral palsy and locomotor disabilities, of which 40% have no permanent disability. Prior to formatting eligible PWBD candidates in the format of the typing skill testing, in Annexure V (E), upload a scanned copy of the typing skill test examination certificate issued by the competent medical board in the concerned RRB website. Merit will be prepared. Employee Notice (CEN) NO. 01/2016 Page 22 For PWBD candidates only on the basis of performance in 2 stages CBT for qualified candidates in TST or TST.

Document Verification(DV)

Based on the performance of candidates in Second Stage CBT and on the basis of the performance of candidates in 2ndStage CBT and CBAT / TST (as the case may be), candidates equal to the number of vacancies will be called for document verification as per their qualifications and options. Apart from this, candidates equal to 50% of the number of vacancies (increase or decrease on the discretion of RRB) will also be called for document verification.
